“Whatever you hold in your mind on a consistent basis is exactly what you will experience in your life.” Tony Robbins

High performers know that they need to examine their beliefs. They pay attention to what they believe – examining if it helps them reach their potential or not. They ask themselves these important questions about beliefs – and remember that beliefs are a skill – they can be unlearned with practice and intention.

Power Phrase this Week:

I have the power to choose my beliefs! I choose empowering beliefs so that I can choose to reach my greater potential.

“Spend less time following other people’s lives and more time leading your own life.” Darren Hardy

High performers know that they have to protect their attention. They pay attention to what they are focused on because that impacts what they think about, what they expect, and what they create in their life. They realize their attention is their sacred gift. They make decisions related to their phone and energy suckers so they can feed their mind with positive and stay focused on their goals and dreams. They stay focused leading their own life, not sucked into others.

Power Phrase this Week:

I get in my life what I create. I spend time leading my own life and directing my attention to my goals and dreams.

Dr. Cindra Kamphoff is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant, Speaker and Author. She provide mental training for the Minnesota Vikings along with many other championships teams. “Every morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.” Mark Twain

High performers know that being present is something we need to practice. Now is the more distracted time in our history and we must practice focusing on attention on what matters – the present. With phones and technology, we can be easily distracted and anxiety. To practice mindfulness, or staying in the present non-judgmentally, we can use a body scan – mental scan, environmental scan, or head to toe scan. This helps connect us with what’s going on right now so we can be the best we can be!

Power Phrase this Week:

"I gently bring my attention to the present moment. Letting go of all worries or regrets. Instead, empowered to reach my best right here and right now."

Dr. Cindra Kamphoff is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant, Speaker and Author. She provide mental training for the Minnesota Vikings along with many other championships teams. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off your bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” ~ Mark Twain

High performers know that confidence is a decision and a skill. It’s more important that they act in a confident way, and then the feeling of confidence come after. To build their confidence, and decrease their FEAR, they DARE. Defuse their negative thoughts, accept the discomfort, set realistic goals, and then embrace their values.

Power Phrase this Week:

"I choose confidence. I act in a confident way, and my confident feelings follow."

“When your brain says that you're done, you're only 40 percent done.” David Goggins, Navy Seal and Ultramarathoner

High performers know they have more in their reserve tank. They keep in mind the 40% rule which means they have up to 60 percent more to give. They embrace the suck, but don’t live there. They think and act like pros by welcoming and embracing the discomfort. They realize they need to stay the course, put their heads in the sand and stay gritty.

Power Phrase this Week:

I have a reserve tank that hasn’t even been tapped. I put my head in the sand, stay the course, and remain gritty.

“Sometimes you have to get out of the way of yourself so you can be yourself.”

Amy Cuddy

High performers know they may experience the Impostor Syndrome. When they do, they realize they are in good company. Then, they catch the thoughts causing it. They remind themselves they are enough.  They focus on the value they bring and own their successes. They remember they didn’t get lucky by chance. They reframe their limiting thoughts and remind themselves, they were meant to be here!

My High Performance Power Phrase:

"I am enough. I own my successes and remind myself, I am meant to be here!"

“You can’t climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets.” Richardo Parente

High performers find the next level by putting in the work. They realize they won’t feel great all of the time, but stick with it knowing they will feel better in a mile. They help others because they know that doing so releases positive endorphins and they generally care for others. They adjust their goals when needed – and stay focused on the process of being at their best – not the outcome.

My High Performance Power Phrase:

“I put in the work necessary for success. I stick with it knowing it will feel sweet at the end!”

“When you complain, you make yourself a victim. Leave the situation. Change the situation or accept it. All else is madness.” Eckhart Tolle

High performers dominate their APE. They focus on what they can control – their attitude, preparation and effort and dominate their reaction to what they cannot control. They choose a positive perspective. They prepare full out and are all in to their pursuit of their long-term goals. They use the 86,400 seconds in each day to their fullest capacity. They give their best day in and day out.

My High Performance Power Phrase:

“If you change the way you look at things, the thing you look at change.” Wayne Dyer

High performers choose positivity in a negative world so they thrive. They use reframing daily which is the process of recreating alternative frames or looking at their life, sport, or the world. They see how the obstacle is helping me. This helps them feel unstoppable and excited about their life, sport, and job.

My High Performance Power Phrase:

"I choose positivity. I choose to bring positive energy each day and in each situation. I choose to focus on what is great in my life and on my team."

“Comparison with myself bring improvement, comparison with others brings discontent.” Betty Jamie Chung

High performers focus on their improvement and reaching their standard of excellence instead of comparing themselves to others. Comparison is the quickest way to let you, your team, your family, or your individual performance suffer. Instead, high performers celebrate others and their accomplishments and ask themselves, “What can I learn from this person?”

Power Phrase this Week:

"I work to be my best me. I know the less I pay attention to others around me, the happier and higher performer I will be!"

“Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have.” ―Jim Rohn

In this episode, Cindra talks with TJ and Lisa about how high performers are aware of the energy they bring to conversations and situations. They notice the energy they bring and make adjustments as necessary. They decide to be an energy generator. They celebrate others. And they keep their positive energy high, so their or other people’s negativity can’t leak in.

This Week’s Power Phrase:

“I generate energy. I am full of enthusiasm, purpose, and a positive perspective.”

“Always remember, your focus determines your reality.” ―George Lucas

Summary: High performers determine where they shine their focus. Their mental spotlight is focused on what gives them energy, and what is good in a situation. They notice where their focus is, and gently get it back to what determines their success. They use “cue words” to bring their focus back on what leads to success.

This Week’s Power Phrase:

I determine where I shine my focus. I keep focused on what leads to my success. I focus on the good and what gives me energy!
