“When you complain, you make yourself a victim. Leave the situation. Change the situation or accept it. All else is madness.” Eckhart Tolle

High performers dominate their APE. They focus on what they can control – their attitude, preparation and effort and dominate their reaction to what they cannot control. They choose a positive perspective. They prepare full out and are all in to their pursuit of their long-term goals. They use the 86,400 seconds in each day to their fullest capacity. They give their best day in and day out.

My High Performance Power Phrase:

"I dominate my APE. I give my best attitude, preparation, and effort day in and day out."

“If you change the way you look at things, the thing you look at change.” Wayne Dyer

High performers choose positivity in a negative world so they thrive. They use reframing daily which is the process of recreating alternative frames or looking at their life, sport, or the world. They see how the obstacle is helping me. This helps them feel unstoppable and excited about their life, sport, and job.

My High Performance Power Phrase:

"I choose positivity. I choose to bring positive energy each day and in each situation. I choose to focus on what is great in my life and on my team."

“Comparison with myself bring improvement, comparison with others brings discontent.” Betty Jamie Chung

High performers focus on their improvement and reaching their standard of excellence instead of comparing themselves to others. Comparison is the quickest way to let you, your team, your family, or your individual performance suffer. Instead, high performers celebrate others and their accomplishments and ask themselves, “What can I learn from this person?”

Power Phrase this Week:

"I work to be my best me. I know the less I pay attention to others around me, the happier and higher performer I will be!"

“Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have.” ―Jim Rohn

In this episode, Cindra talks with TJ and Lisa about how high performers are aware of the energy they bring to conversations and situations. “Always remember, your focus determines your reality.” ―George Lucas

Summary: High performers determine where they shine their focus. Their mental spotlight is focused on what gives them energy, and what is good in a situation. They notice where their focus is, and gently get it back to what determines their success. They use “cue words” to bring their focus back on what leads to success.

This Week’s Power Phrase:

I determine where I shine my focus. I keep focused on what leads to my success. I focus on the good and what gives me energy!

In this episode, Cindra talks with TJ and Lisa about the 9th practice of the world's best: they live and let go.

The 10 Practices are featured in Cindra's book, Beyond Grit, and you can find a PDF of the 10 practices of the world's best at: https://www.beyondgrit.com/bonus/.

Summary of the episode: High performers let go of mistakes and tough things so they are not heavy or weighed down. Mistakes and disappointments can teach us a lot about ourselves. It’s important when we do experience failure that we see it as learning tool – perhaps motivating us to improve and get better. The best: learn, burn and return.

This Week’s Power Phrase:

I see failure and mistakes as opportunity to learn and grow. I will get it next time!
