As humans, our default is to focus on the uncontrollables. It is much easier to blame, complain, and make excuses than to take a close look in the mirror and examine ourselves and our actions.  In this episode, Cindra talks about the foundation of performance – focusing on what you can control and how to do that.

Power Phrase of the Week: “I dominate the controllables.”

Quote of the Week: John Maxwell said, “Life is 10% of what happens to me, and 90% of how I react to it.”

Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.”

Today on the podcast we explore the power of our thoughts. We all have automatic negative thoughts (or ANTS) and our ANTS can seem very real. We want to notice our ANTS and take a step back to diminish their power. You shouldn’t believe everything you think because your brain’s purpose is to keep you safe, watching for negativity.

Power Phrase this Week: “I level up my thoughts to level up my life.”

Sep 30, 2021

Knowing doesn’t create change; it’s the doing that creates change. You may know about why we have negativity as humans, but you must put it into action to see the results. In this episode, Cindra talks about how negativity isn’t always bad – it can help us make good decisions and protect us. But many times too much doesn’t serve it. Savoring is one way to train your mind to see the good and the possibilities.

Power Phrase of the Week: “I savor the good to combat my negativity bias.”

Quote of the Week: “Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.”  Willie Nelson

Grit has been described as the number #1 predictor of long-term success. We all need to develop our grit to be successful. To do so, you can consider what are you working towards long-term? James Robilotta is a author, professional speaker, personal coach, and entrepreneur that's trained in stand-up and improv comedy. Most people dream too small or lose the ability to dream as they age. They let limiting beliefs get in the way, or they listen to other people’s disbelief in their goals and dreams. A key factor to keep in mind when you are setting goals is that the power of setting goals is who you can become in the process. Make connecting with your goals a daily mindset practice.
